CFM's litigation practice serves a diverse clientele, comprised of both businesses and individuals, in a wide array of matters ranging from commercial transactions, including foreclosures and workouts, to cases involving securities and bank fraud, medical malpractice, and bond claims, as well as professional liability, ERISA issues, personal injury suits, employment and other contractual and business disputes. In pursuit of the best client service, CFM represents its litigation clients in matters before state and federal courts, on both the trial and appellate levels. CFM also works with clients who wish to pursue Alternative Dispute Resolution, in order to best accomplish client goals, while economically and efficiently resolving disputes.
Joseph V. Meaney, Jr. served as class counsel for 70 municipalities and secured a judgment of $35.8 million against the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority to recover past overcharges imposed as a result of an illegal unsecured loan. CRRA was also enjoined from imposing more than $6.9 million in additional overcharges.
